- Teachers: Our amazing guides! They teach us how to read, write, count, and understand the world around us.
- Pupils: That's you and your friends! You are the most important people in the school because you are here to learn.

Image Suggestion: A vibrant and cheerful digital illustration of a Kenyan school compound. Show a friendly female Head Teacher in a kitenge dress standing near the school office, a male teacher with a book talking to a group of diverse students in colorful uniforms, a smiling cook in an apron serving Githeri from a large pot, and a groundsman watering flowers in the background. The style should be warm, inviting, and cartoonish for children.

Fun Activities We Do at School
School is so exciting because of all the things we do! Learning is our main job, and sometimes, that means doing some fun math to help our brains grow stronger!
Let's Do Some School Math!
Imagine our class is helping to take care of the school garden. Let's solve a problem about it.
Problem:
Our class planted 8 beautiful flower seedlings on Monday.
On Tuesday, we planted 6 more seedlings.
How many flower seedlings did we plant in total?
Step 1: Count the seedlings from Monday.
8 seedlings
Step 2: Count the seedlings from Tuesday.
6 seedlings
Step 3: Add them together to find the total.
8 + 6 = 14
Answer: We planted 14 flower seedlings in total! Great job!
How We Take Care of Our School Environment
Our school is our special place, and it is our duty to keep it clean, safe, and beautiful. When we take care of our school, we are being responsible citizens. Here is how we can help:
- Always put your rubbish in the bin. Do not throw it on the ground.
- Do not write on the desks or the walls. Let's keep them clean for everyone.
- Take good care of school property like books, chairs, and sports equipment.
- Help water the plants and trees in the school compound.
- If you see a running tap, close it or tell a teacher to help save water.
A Story About Zawadi the HelperOne afternoon, a little girl named Zawadi saw that some younger pupils had forgotten to put away the balls after playing. Instead of just walking away, she gathered the balls and put them back in the sports store. Her teacher saw her and told the whole school about her good deed during assembly. Zawadi showed everyone that taking care of school property is everyone's job!
Image Suggestion: An eye-level, sunny illustration of Kenyan primary school children taking care of their school. One child is carefully placing a wrapper in a colourful dustbin, another is watering a small flower patch with a watering can, and two others are wiping a classroom desk with a cloth. They are all smiling and wearing their school uniforms. The style should be encouraging and positive.
Our School, Our Pride!
Always remember that you are an important part of our school. By learning well, playing kindly with your friends, and caring for our school environment, you help make it the very best place to be. Keep shining and being a wonderful pupil!

Keeping Our School a Happy Place: School Rules
To make sure our school is safe, clean, and a happy place for everyone, we have some important rules. Rules are not to punish us, but to help us. Think of them like the rules of a fun game!
Some common school rules are:
- Wear your clean and smart school uniform.
- Arrive at school on time every day.
- Respect your teachers and all school workers.
- Be kind to your fellow learners. Do not fight.
- Keep our school clean by putting litter in the bin.
- Do your homework.
Let's Do Some School Math!
Imagine our school has 3 classrooms for Grade 1 and 2 classrooms for Grade 2. How many classrooms are there in total for these grades?
Step 1: Count the classrooms for Grade 1.
Number of Grade 1 classrooms = 3
Step 2: Count the classrooms for Grade 2.
Number of Grade 2 classrooms = 2
Step 3: Add them together to find the total.
Total classrooms = 3 + 2
Step 4: Calculate the final answer.
3 + 2 = 5
Answer: There are 5 classrooms in total!
Where is Our School Located?
Our school is part of a larger community. Knowing its location helps us describe where it is to other people. We can use landmarks (important places nearby) to describe its location.
Example: "My school, Sunlight Primary, is located in Nairobi County. To get there, you follow the main road past the big market. Our school is right next to the health clinic with the green roof."
Image Suggestion: A simple, colorful, hand-drawn style map for children. It should show a school building at the center. Around it, draw simple icons for landmarks: a 'Market' with a fruit stall, a 'Clinic' with a red cross, a 'Church' with a steeple, and a 'Main Road' with a small matatu on it. Use clear, bold labels for each landmark.
Well done, mwanafunzi! You now know so much about your school environment. It's a wonderful community of people and places that help you learn and grow. Always be proud of your school and help to make it the best it can be. Asante sana for learning with me today!
