The WFP Kenya Country Office (KCO) implements an Internship Programme designed to deepen understanding of the United Nations by providing practical, hands-on experience within the World Food Programme. The programme offers graduate students an opportunity to gain professional exposure in their respective fields of study and specialization, both within programme areas and across various offices in the country. The Country Office is now seeking to select Interns for Cohort 3, 2026, for an eight-month programme with opportunities in both Field Offices and the Nairobi Office. For Field Office placements, priority will be given to candidates from the surrounding local communities to enhance impact. Applicants must be Kenyan nationals, recent graduates, and residents of Kenya. Candidates placed in field locations will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation near the respective duty stations. Proficiency in the local language is required for this role to ensure effective communication with stakeholders. Intern - Human Resources, Nairobi The HR Intern will support the Human Resources function by assisting in the planning, coordination, execution, and tracking initiatives across Learning & Development, Performance Management, and Workplace Culture. The HR intern will provide critical assistance in managing foundational tasks such as scheduling sessions, tracking attendance, coordinating survey logistics, and maintaining accurate documentation. This dedicated support will enable the core HR team to focus on strategic deliverables such as designing frameworks, implementing planned priorities, and embedding cultural initiatives that directly contribute to organizational growth, talent development, and an exceptional employee experience. Key Responsibilities Learning & Development, Performance Management & Talent Management Coordinate and manage training calendars, send invitations, track attendance, and compile post-session evaluations to ensure smooth delivery of learning programs. Support onboarding activities by handling logistics, preparing materials, and ensuring a seamless experience for new hires. Prepare and maintain monthly reports and dashboards for Learning & Development and Performance Management, providing insights for decision-making. Facilitate vendor engagement (where applicable) by managing scheduling, documentation, and collecting feedback to maintain quality standards. Support in recruitment processes. Workplace Culture & Engagement Coordinate engagement activities (recognition moments, wellness days, DEI activities). Maintain engagement calendar. Track recognition nominations. Support onboarding buddies/mentorship program with matching and check-ins. HR Administration & Compliance Communicate HR information to stakeholders, external vendors, and/or client groups. Support basic data entry and HRIS updates as guided by HR. Assist in the personnel filing digitization process. Uphold confidentiality and data protection requirements. Expected Outcomes: Learning & Development Updated training calendar and attendance tracker. Post-training evaluation summaries and monthly L\&D dashboards. Performance Management & Talent Management Accurate performance data tracker and summary reports for review cycles. Support materials for onboarding and mentorship programs. Workplace Culture & Engagement Engagement activity calendar with executed events and participation reports. Recognition program updates. HR Administration & Compliance Digitized personnel files and updated HRIS records Communication templates for HR initiatives and vendor coordination. Qualifications Required: Education: A recent graduate (within the last 6 months) with a Bachelors in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field. Language: Fluency in Oral and written English. Computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
