Role Description
This is a full-time role for Truck & Trailer drivers for Nairobi-based and Transit Drivers who will operate across the East Africa region. The role involves operating trucks and trailers to transport goods to designated locations efficiently and safely. Responsibilities include inspecting vehicles for mechanical and safety issues, following delivery schedules, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and maintaining accurate delivery logs. Drivers are expected to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills when interacting with clients during deliveries.
Qualifications
• Must hold a Kenya NTSA Class BCE, CE or CD licenses (authorizing operation of trucks/trailers)
• Defensive Driving Certification: Mandatory, with demonstrated ability to apply safe driving practices in diverse traffic and road conditions
• Secondary education/KCSE certificate
• Experience: Over 3 years of progressive driving experience
• Clean Driving Record: No history of major traffic violations, accidents, or reckless driving
• Vehicle Knowledge: Ability to conduct routine inspections to ensure trucks remain safe and roadworthy
• Flexible and medically fit
• Independence & Reliability: Capable of working with minimal supervision while meeting schedules and deadlines
• Strong Communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients
• Customer Service skills to ensure a positive client experience during deliveries
• Basic understanding of transportation documentation and logistics processes
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to varying schedules
• Previous experience in logistics or supply chain management is an added advantage
