Habari Mwanafunzi! God Made You Special!
Hello there, wonderful student! Have you ever looked at the beautiful patterns on a butterfly's wings or the amazing colours of a bougainvillea flower outside your home? The God who made all those amazing things also made something even more special… YOU! Today, we are going to learn just how unique and wonderful you are, because you were made by God.
Think of God as the greatest artist or the most skilled fundi (craftsman) in the universe. An artist doesn't make two paintings exactly the same. Each one is a unique masterpiece. You are one of God's masterpieces!
You are One of a Kind!
In the whole wide world, with millions and millions of people, there is no one else exactly like you. Not now, not in the past, and not in the future. You are completely unique! One of the simplest ways to see this is by looking at your own hands. Look at your fingertips. Those little patterns are called fingerprints.
Your fingerprints are not like your mother's, your father's, your best friend's, or even your twin brother's or sister's if you have one! They are yours alone. God gave you a special pattern that belongs only to you.

A sign that you are an original, not a copy!
Just like no two zebras in the Maasai Mara have the exact same stripes, you have your own special combination of looks, thoughts, and feelings. Let's do a fun "calculation" to see how special you are:
Step 1: Your unique laugh
+
Step 2: The special way you tell a story
+
Step 3: Your kind heart
+
Step 4: Your dream for the future

Result: A 100% Unique and Wonderful Person (YOU!)
God Gave You Special Gifts
God did not just make you unique; He also packed you full of amazing gifts and talents! A talent is something you are good at. It can be anything!
- Maybe you can run very fast, like our great athlete Eliud Kipchoge. That is a gift!
- Maybe you have a beautiful voice for singing in the choir or at home. That is a gift!
- Maybe you are very good at drawing, or at solving difficult maths problems. That is a gift!
- Maybe your gift is being a kind friend, making people laugh, or helping your shosho (grandmother) in the shamba (garden). That is a very important gift too!
Image Suggestion:A vibrant, colourful digital painting of a group of diverse Kenyan children under a large acacia tree. One child is skilfully kicking a football, another is painting a beautiful sunset on an easel, a third is reading a book aloud to a younger sibling, and a fourth is gently watering a small sukuma wiki plant. The style is joyful, positive, and full of life.
Story Time: Kamau's DiscoveryKamau used to watch his friend Akinyi draw amazing pictures and his other friend David score goals in football. "I don't have a special talent," he thought sadly. One day, their teacher asked them to tell a story about a clever hare. When it was Kamau's turn, he stood up and told a story so funny and exciting that the whole class was silent, listening to his every word. At the end, everyone clapped loudly! The teacher smiled and said, "Kamau, you are a wonderful storyteller! That is your special gift from God." Kamau realised that his talent wasn't in his hands or feet, but in his voice and his imagination.
You Reflect God's Goodness
In Religious Education, we learn that God made human beings in a very special way. He made us in His "image" or likeness. What does this mean? It doesn't mean we look like God. It means we have special qualities that reflect God's own goodness. Qualities like:
- Love: The ability to care for our family and friends.
- Creativity: The ability to make new things, like a drawing, a song, or even a new game.
- Kindness: The ability to be gentle and helpful to others.
- Choice: The ability to choose between right and wrong.
When you are kind, when you are creative, when you love others, you are like a small mirror reflecting the great light and goodness of God for everyone to see.
Image Suggestion:A gentle, heartwarming illustration of a young African child in a school uniform, looking into a clear puddle of water after a rain shower. Their reflection in the water is clear, but a soft, golden star is glowing over their heart in the reflection, symbolizing their inner value and divine spark. The background is a simple, peaceful village setting at dusk. The mood is one of wonder and self-realisation.
Taking Care of God's Wonderful Creation
Because God made you so wonderfully, He wants you to take care of yourself. You are His precious creation! How can you do this?
- Take care of your body: Eat healthy food like ugali, sukuma wiki, and fruits to be strong. Get enough sleep and play outside.
- Take care of your mind: Listen to your teachers, read books, and always be curious to learn new things.
- Take care of your heart: Choose to be kind, truthful, and forgive others.
It also means we must remember that everyone else is also a special creation of God. When we understand this, we know we must treat everyone with respect and kindness, no matter how different they are from us. When you help a classmate who has fallen or share your snack, you are honouring God by taking care of His creation.
Remember, You are a Masterpiece!
So, never forget this lesson. When you look in the mirror, smile and remember:
- You are unique: There is no one else like you.
- You have gifts: You have special talents to discover and use.
- You have value: You are precious and made in God's image.
You are not an accident. You were designed with love and purpose. You are God's wonderful creation!
Hello, Wonderful You! God's Special Creation
Have you ever looked at yourself in a mirror or a still puddle of water after the rain? Have you seen your bright eyes, your unique smile, and your amazing hair? Have you ever wondered, "Who made me so special?" Well, the answer is simple and wonderful: God made you! And He did a fantastic job.
One of a Kind, Just Like a Zebra's Stripes!
Here in Kenya, we see so many amazing animals. Think about the zebras in the Maasai Mara. From far away, they might all look the same, but did you know that no two zebras have the exact same pattern of stripes? They are all unique! You are just like that, but even more special. God made you to be completely original. There is no one else in the whole world exactly like you!
- Your Fingerprints: The tiny patterns on your fingertips are yours and yours alone!
- Your Voice: The sound of your laugh when you share a joke with your friend is unique.
- Your Dreams: The ideas and dreams you have in your head are special to you.
- Your Talents: Maybe you can run as fast as a cheetah, draw beautiful pictures of Mount Kenya, or tell amazing stories like a wise elder. That is a special gift from God to you.
Whether your name is Akinyi from the lakeside, Wanjiku from the central highlands, or Juma from the sunny coast, God knew you and planned for you before you were even born. He chose your family, your community, and your amazing personality. He made you perfectly Kenyan and perfectly you!
Image Suggestion: [A vibrant, joyful digital painting of a group of diverse Kenyan children from different communities (e.g., Maasai, Kikuyu, Luo, Swahili) playing together under a large acacia tree. They are all laughing and sharing. The style should be warm, colourful, and celebratory.]
The Amazing "Formula" of You!
If we were to think about how God made you using a fun formula, it might look something like this. It’s not real mathematics, but a wonderful way to see all the special ingredients God used!
A Clever Brain (For learning new things) + 1
A Kind Heart (For loving others) + 1
Two Strong Legs (For playing 'kati') + 2
A Big, Happy Smile + 1
A Pinch of Mischief (For fun!) + 1
God's Endless Love + ∞ (Infinite!)

= 1 Wonderful, Uniquely Made YOU!
A Reflection of God's Goodness
The Holy Books (the Bible, the Qur'an) teach us that we are made in the image of God. This doesn't mean we look exactly like God. Instead, it means we have a special spark of God inside us. We can reflect His goodness just like a clear river reflects the blue sky. We show we are made in His image when we:
- Show love to our family and friends.
- Are creative, by drawing, singing, or building things.
- Show kindness, by helping someone who has fallen or sharing your lunch.
- Make good choices, even when it's hard.
Every time you are kind, you are showing the world a little piece of God's wonderful character!

Activity: What Makes You, YOU?
Let's take a moment to thank God for making you so special. Find a quiet spot and think about three things you like about yourself. It could be anything!
Example Story: Little Chepkorir from the Rift Valley used to be sad because she couldn't sing as loudly as her friends. But one day, she discovered she could spot birds' nests that no one else could see. She was a brilliant spotter! She realised God hadn't made her a singer, but He had given her eagle eyes. She thanked God for her special gift that helped everyone on their nature walks.
Now it's your turn! What is your special gift? Are you a great friend? A fast runner? A kind helper at home? Close your eyes and say a small "Thank You" to God for making you perfectly, wonderfully, and uniquely YOU.
Jambo! Let's Talk About a Very Special Person... YOU!
Have you ever looked at the beautiful, bright patterns on a kanga or a kikoy? Each one is different and made with great care. Or have you ever watched a bird like the Superb Starling and marvelled at its amazing colours? The world is full of wonderful creations, but today, we are going to learn about the most special creation of all: YOU!
In all of God's amazing creation, from the peak of Mt. Kenya to the sandy shores of Mombasa, there is no one else exactly like you. Let's find out why.
Image Suggestion: A vibrant, sunlit outdoor scene in Kenya. A diverse group of smiling Kenyan primary school children (from different tribes, some in school uniform, some in casual clothes) are playing together under a large acacia tree. The style should be warm, colourful, and realistic.
Made by the Master Creator
Everything that is made has a maker. A carpenter makes a chair, a farmer grows maize, and a potter moulds a clay pot (nyungu). In the same way, the holy books (the Bible and the Qur'an) teach us that God is the Master Creator who made each one of us.
- He planned you carefully, just like a Maasai artisan plans the beads for a beautiful necklace.
- He formed you with love and skill.
- He knew you even before you were born.
This means you are not an accident! You were created on purpose, for a purpose.
Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
The scriptures say that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made." This means we are complex, amazing, and a true wonder of God's creation. Think about your amazing body:
- Your Eyes: To see the beautiful world God made - the green fields after the rain, a Nairobi sunset, and the faces of your family.
- Your Ears: To hear the birds singing, the stories of your grandmother (shosho), and your favourite music.
- Your Hands: To help with chores at home, to write in your book, to wave to a friend, and to build amazing things.
- Your Legs: To run and play games like kati, to walk to school, and to dance!
- Your Brain: To learn new things in school, to solve problems, and to have brilliant ideas.
- Your Heart: To love God, your family, and your friends.

Inside is a Heart full of Love and Kindness!
One in a Billion! The Miracle of You
Did you know that your fingerprints are completely unique? No one else in the whole world, not even your twin if you have one, has the same fingerprints as you! It's one of God's special signatures on you.
Just like your fingerprints, your personality, your talents, and your dreams are also unique. Maybe you are a fast runner, a great artist, a kind friend, or someone who tells funny stories. All these things are gifts from God that make you, YOU.
Let's think of it like a special formula for being you:
CALCULATING YOUR UNIQUENESS:
(Your Special Talents)
+ (Your Unique Personality)
+ (The Love from Your Family)
+ (God's Special Spark)
----------------------------------
= 1 Unique & Wonderful YOU!
So, What's Our Job? Our Purpose!
Since God made us so wonderfully and uniquely, He wants us to do two important things:
- Take Care of Ourselves: We should respect our bodies by eating healthy food (like sukuma wiki and ugali!), keeping clean, and resting. We should also respect our minds by learning and thinking good thoughts.
- Take Care of Others and Creation: We show gratitude to God by being kind to others, helping those in need, and taking care of the beautiful world He gave us, from the animals in our national parks to the trees in our school compound.
A Short Story: Ali's GiftAli was a boy in Standard 4 who loved to draw. While other children played football, he would sit under a tree with a piece of charcoal and a flat stone, drawing pictures of lions and giraffes. Some children laughed at him. But one day, the teacher asked the class to make posters about keeping the school clean. Ali drew a beautiful picture of a smiling sun watching over children as they put rubbish in the bin. The poster was so good that the headteacher put it up in the school hall for everyone to see. Ali learned that his unique gift from God could be used to help his whole community.
Let's Remember!
As we finish our lesson, always remember these important truths:
- God is your creator, and He made you with love and care.
- You are wonderfully made, with an amazing body and mind.
- You are completely unique – there is no one else like you in the world!
- You have a purpose: to love God, take care of yourself, and be a blessing to others.
So, the next time you look in the mirror, smile! You are looking at a masterpiece made by God Himself.
