Role Overview

The Sales Director – East Africa will be responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, and strategic client acquisition across all East African markets for Tenece. This role provides regional leadership, sets sales strategy, manages country sales teams, and builds strong relationships with key enterprise and public-sector clients.

The ideal candidate is a strategic sales leader with deep experience in enterprise solutions, regional market management, and team leadership across multiple countries.

Key Responsibilities

Regional Sales Strategy & Growth
• Develop and execute the East Africa regional sales strategy aligned with Tenece’s overall business objectives.
• Drive revenue growth across all East African markets.
• Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and verticals.
• Own regional sales forecasts, budgets, and performance targets.

Team Leadership & Performance
• Lead, coach, and manage Country Sales Managers and Account Managers across East Africa.
• Set KPIs, monitor performance, and ensure accountability across all regions.
• Build a high-performing, results-driven sales culture.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of sales teams.

Key Accounts & Enterprise Sales
• Lead high-value and strategic enterprise deals from negotiation to closure.
• Maintain strong relationships with key clients, government agencies, and strategic partners.
• Act as the executive sponsor for major regional accounts.

Market & Stakeholder Management
• Represent Tenece at regional business forums, client meetings, and industry events.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Pre-Sales, Technical, and Delivery teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to leadership.

Reporting & Governance
• Provide regular regional sales reports, pipeline updates, and performance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing frameworks, and contractual standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience
• Master’s degree in IT, Marketing, Business Administration, or Management.
• Minimum of 10 years’ sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior regional or leadership role.
• Proven experience working in an IT company, specifically within enterprise solutions, IT services, or B2B technology consulting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead multi-country sales operations across East Africa.
• Strong, verifiable track record of closing large, complex, high-value enterprise deals.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Sales Leadership, Project Management, IT, Cloud, Digital Transformation, or similar).
• Experience working with multinational or pan-African organizations.
• Exposure to public sector or large corporate clients within the East African region.
