Job Description

1. Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Strategic Support
• Embed deeply with Africa regional leadership to co-create and execute business strategies; translate growth plans into proactive people-road-maps.
• Anticipate talent needs for market entry, site ramp-ups and project launches; deliver “talent-first” solutions that guarantee critical roles are filled before revenue milestones.
• Run quarterly talent reviews with business heads, diagnose org capability gaps, and recommend structural, succession or incentive adjustments that raise team effectiveness.
• Design localized capability-building programs with HQ Talent Development to strengthen sales, operations and technical pipelines.

End-to-End Talent Acquisition
• Own the full-cycle hiring process for all African markets: define job specs, source, screen, interview, negotiate and onboard; build evergreen talent pools for repeat scale-ups.

Compensation & Benefits
• Benchmark C&B against local markets and labor law; craft competitive yet cost-effective offers; supervise payroll vendors to ensure compliant, on-time salary & statutory payments.

HR Operations & Admin
• Handle contracts, on boarding, off-boarding, work permits, personnel files, attendance and leave records; coordinate office set-up, vendors and general services to keep sites running.

Employee Relations & Engagement
• Act as trusted bridge between employees and management; design recognition, communication and welfare activities; resolve ER cases early and keep HQ informed.

Compliance & Risk Management
• Monitor evolving labor codes in every operating country; adapt global policies to local statutes; conduct audits and training to minimize exposure.

HR Analytics & Reporting
• Maintain real-time dashboards on headcount, time-to-fill, turnover, cost-per-hire and productivity metrics; translate data into actionable insights for regional and HQ leaders.

2. Requirements

Education
• Bachelor’s degree or above; major in HRM, Business Administration, Engineering or related field preferred.

Languages
• Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken & written) for daily business.
• French proficiency is a strong plus for Francophone markets.

Experience
• Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience covering at least two of the following: recruiting, C&B, employee relations.
• Prior track record as an HRBP supporting revenue-generating teams, or multi-country HR management in Africa / emerging markets.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-growing, resource-constrained environments.

Competencies
• Business acumen: quickly grasps P&L drivers and aligns HR levers to growth.
• Cross-cultural agility: effectively collaborates with Chinese HQ, local nationals and third-country nationals; respects and leverages cultural differences.
• Problem-solving: thrives under pressure, navigates ambiguity, delivers pragmatic solutions with limited supervision.
• Mobility: willing to undertake frequent short- to medium-term travel across Africa.
• Ownership: high sense of accountability, rigorous execution and results orientation.
