About the team
Established in 2025, the Philanthropy Support team oversees the design and delivery of strategy, learning, and advisory work for philanthropic clients across Itad’s portfolio. Our foundations portfolio spans partnerships with organizations such as the Gates Foundation, Hewlett Foundation, Porticus and Wellcome Trust.
The Role
We’re recruiting for an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and creative Senior Consultant who can drive high ‑quality project delivery, cultivate strong relationships with clients and sector partners, spot emerging opportunities, shape compelling proposals, and strengthen internal capabilities across our portfolio. We are also seeking someone who can take on a Team Lead role across our foundation projects, providing direction, oversight, and support to ensure excellence in delivery and client engagement.
The role involves steering complex projects, engaging confidently with senior stakeholders, contributing to business development, and sharing insights through knowledge products, conferences, and external events—all while helping uphold the strong reputation we’ve built with our clients.
Specifically, the Senior Consultant is expected to:
Support Business Development (25%)
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with foundation partners and clients
• Conduct market research and analyses
• Contribute ideas and lead/support the production of blogs, toolkits, papers, and other products that add value to the philanthropic space and build Itad’s reputation
• * Play a key role in guiding and/or leading live proposals
Deliver Existing Contracts (55-60%)
• Contribute to and/or serve as a Team Lead on live contracts with priority clients, with a focus on leading learning partnerships and assignments and projects which bridge strategy and learning
• Design and facilitate learning events and workshops with clients and their partners
• * Lead the creation of learning products – briefs, slide decks, and reports, as well as other creative products that meet client and partner needs, such as interactive maps, Miro boards, and others
Support Foundations Account Management (15-20%)
• Help build and maintain coordination and alignment across practices
• Support and contribute to ongoing management of the account, including by participating in cross-practice account meetings
• Support use of the CRM
• Develop tools and templates for internal use
• * Guide other team members on how to best work with and engage foundations
The core technical strengths of all our consultants are focused around these key areas:
• As a strategist, you are able to lead clients and partners through processes of developing, refining, and strengthening high impact program and portfolio-level strategies for achieving social impact

• change agent you can effectively analyse and interpret data to support evidence based discussions and use strong client facing skills to deliver this.

• project manager you will have demonstrated your ability to pro-actively work with clients whilst building trust, ensuring a quality focus throughout, supported by clear commercial project management skills.
Experience Needed
This position will be filled by an experienced Senior Consultant, with at least three years of that experience specifically involving work with foundation clients, and who has participated in and/or led assignments that include strategy, learning, and evaluative components.
They should be comfortable managing internal processes, maintaining clear communication channels, and creating structures that enable smooth delivery—whether that’s organizing cross‑practice meetings, supporting account management routines, or ensuring consistent use of tools such as CRMs .
