Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Human Capital Manager will lead key human resources functions, including recruitment, training, employee engagement, and development of HR policies. The role involves driving organizational culture initiatives, managing employee relations, performance appraisals, and fostering an optimal work environment. Additionally, the Human Capital Manager will analyze and implement strategies to improve workforce productivity and ensure compliance with employment laws and standards.
A. Human Capital Strategy and Workforce Planning
v Implement a Human Capital strategy aligned with the Bank’s corporate strategy and institutional priorities.
v Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design initiatives.
v Advise Executive Management on staffing needs, role clarity, and capacity development.
B. Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
v Oversee transparent, competitive, and merit-based recruitment processes.
v Ensure effective onboarding and induction of new staff.
v Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment and staffing.
C. Performance Management and Talent Development
v Manage the Bank’s performance management system and appraisal processes.
v Support managers in setting objectives, conducting reviews, and addressing performance gaps.
v Design and implement learning, leadership development, and succession programmes.
D. Compensation, Benefits, and Rewards
v Administer compensation and benefits frameworks in line with approved policies.
v Support job evaluation, grading, and market benchmarking exercises.
v Advise Management on reward structures and recognition mechanisms.
E. Employee Relations and Workplace Culture
v Promote a positive, ethical, and performance-driven organizational culture.
v Manage employee relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary processes.
v Support staff engagement, well-being, and change management initiatives.
F. HR Governance, Policies, and Compliance
v Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.
v Support internal and external audits relating to human capital.
G. Management Support
v Prepare Human Capital reports for Management and Board Committees.
v Support implementation of Board and Management decisions relating to staffing and organization effectiveness.
v Provide strategic HR advisory support to senior leadership.
Experience and Academic Qualifications
v Education: Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field
v Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related discipline
v Professional Certification (Advantage): IHRM, SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent
v Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years progressive experience in Human Capital / HR management.
v At least 7 years at a managerial or senior advisory level
v Experience in a development finance institution, multilateral organization, financial institution.
