SPECIAL ISSUE 365 Kenya Gazette Supplement No 65 21st April, 2017 (Legislative Supplement No. 24 of 2011) IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 109 of the Elections Act, 2011, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission makes the following Regulations:— THE ELECTIONS (GENERAL) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2017 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Elections (General) (Amendment) Regulations, 2017 and shall come into operation upon publication in the Gazette. The Elections (General) Regulations, 2012, in these Regulations referred to as “the principal Regulations”, are amended in regulation 2— L. (d) inserting the following new sub regulation immediately after sub regulation (2)— (3) The symbol of an independent candidate shall be submitted in an electronic and print format as prescribed by the Commission together with the candidates details in Form 11P set out in the Schedule. Regulation 13 of the principal Regulations is amended by— (a) inserting the following new sub regulation immediately after sub regulation (1)— (1A) A political party whose nomination rules have been declared void by the Commission under section 27 (2B) of the Act shall not participate in the elections.
