INTRODUCTION This Research Policy serves as a guide to ensure that research at the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) is conducted and managed according to global best practices to produce research and innovation of the highest significance and societal impact. This Policy provides the framework for improving efficiency and effectiveness of conducting research and should be read in tandem with the Universities Act No. 42 of 2012, the Technical University Statues 2013 and the Science, Technology, and Innovation Act No. The TU-K supports research and innovation through competitive research grants and by soliciting donor funds to supplement its contribution. The University encourages collaborative research and development through partnerships with national, regional, and international institutions and organizations. The research policy addresses the systems that respond to the University’s mandate to support the realization of the nations development and economic priorities.
