It is task of extension worker to provide people with opportunity to learn and stimulates mental and physical activity that induces positive behaviour. There is therefore a need for extension officer to be aware of and use different available teaching approaches in extension. 3 categories of extension methods are applied and they include; 1. INDIVIDUAL METHOD It is a process of learning between the extension officer and the farmer. The extension officer the problems of the farmer at that time when they are in contact e. Farm and home visits ADVANTAGES 1. Privacy and confidentiality between the farmer and the extension officer etc. This helps the farmers to express themselves freely 2. The extension works gets acquainted to the farmer and his family and his way of life. The extension officer gets first-hand information and problems faced by the farmer.
