Animal welfare was lacking e. animals were left with the predators, disease control was lacking, nutrition was poor & breeding management was also absent. ❖ Generally animal husbandry practices were lacking. Consequences of domestication of Livestock 1. Man took complete care of Livestock 2. The animals were protected from their predators, diseases, controlled their breeding, provided with feeds and housing 3. Evolution of animal husbandry, Domestication of livestock gave rise in increased knowledge in livestock management and practices 4. It led to documentation of information and knowledge in livestock management and production 5. Evolution of specialised species of domesticated animals. This lead to selection and production of species that were efficient in production giving high quality products like milk, meat, eggs etc 6.
