Job Description
Project: Bonded Warehouse–Based Supply Chain for Industrial Power Electronics
I am currently pursuing a Weekend MBA at IIM Kozhikode. As part of my studies, I am working on a practical, field-based project focused on designing a bonded warehouse + 3PL supply chain model for industrial power control and power electronics components.
This is not a theoretical assignment.
The project is meant to:
Serve as my MBA final project
Act as a real blueprint for a future startup
Be based on actual customs law, bonded warehousing rules, and ground realities
My main focus is India, with Kochi as a key port, and the secondary focus is global import, re-export, and RMA flows.
What kind of help I am looking for
I am looking for a retired or senior customs / trade professional who can act as a paid advisor and guide me on how these systems really work in practice.
Areas where guidance may be needed (depending on your background):
Bonded warehouse models (Section 58 / 65, MOOWR, FTWZ)
HS code classification for electronics and industrial components
Deferred duty and GST handling
Re-export and RMA procedures
Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and consignment stock in bonded warehouses
Common compliance risks, audits, and mistakes companies make
Good practices followed in India and globally
This is only advisory support.
No execution work, no clearance handling.
Engagement details
Type: Freelance / Consulting
Duration: 3 to 6 months (flexible)
Time: Around 5–10 hours per month
Mode: In-person preferred if based near Kochi, otherwise online
Payment: Paid engagement (hourly / monthly / project basis – open to discussion)
Who I am hoping to work with
Retired or semi-retired Indian Customs / CBIC officer, or
Senior EXIM / trade compliance consultant with hands-on bonded warehouse experience
Experience with electronics or industrial imports is a plus
Someone willing to mentor and share real operational insights
