Actuarial Analyst, Life & Annuity Pricing
Job Description
• Develop, refine, and document pricing methodologies for life and annuity products, ensuring consistency and alignment with company risk appetite and regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain new business pricing assumptions across mortality, persistency, expenses, investment, hedging costs and policyholder behavior
• Perform profitability, product economics, and experience study analyses to support pricing and marketing strategies
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing data, and analytical models used for profitability management and new product development
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of pricing tools, databases, and models in collaboration with actuarial and corporate partners
• Support new product development and implementation efforts, as well as ongoing enhancements to existing product offerings
• Respond to routine and ad hoc analytical requests related to product development, financial planning, assumption updates, and management reporting
• Work closely with marketing to develop innovative ideas for our agents and their clients
• Develop and monitor various pricing, financial, administrative, and illustration systems
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, quantitative finance, or a related field
• Progress toward actuarial designation with the Society of Actuaries (ASA or FSA track)
• Prior experience in actuarial, finance, or quantitative roles, 3+ years preferred
• Solid knowledge of annuity products (MYGA and/or FIA including GLWB) and strong interest in pricing, profitability, and risk management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to VBA, Python, SQL, or MG-Alfa is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
• Ability to communicate analytical results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
This role is eligible for participation in the company’s Actuarial Development Program, which provides exam support towards Society of Actuaries designations.
