We are searching for the best talent for a Director, Global Professional Relations to join our J&J Vision team. This position is remote based within the US.
Purpose:
This position manages and oversees Global Professional Relations for Surgical Vision. Primary responsibilities include managing and developing professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (Private Practice, Hospitals, Private Equity, and Academic Centers), as well as leading our annual Strategic Advisory Boards.
You will be responsible for:
• Develop and implement comprehensive Key Opinion Leader educational and insight-driven engagement strategies that aligns with company objectives and enhances our brand presence in the surgical vision market.
• Act as the primary point of contact for KOLs, facilitating communication between them and our internal teams including product development, marketing, medical affairs and clinical research.
• Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and KOL insights to inform product development and marketing strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure KOL feedback is incorporated into product development and marketing initiatives.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on KOL activities, trends, and insights.
• Identify, plan and engage surgeons with focused activities, while elevating relationships across JJV leadership.
• Organize and oversee educational events, workshops, and advisory boards featuring KOLs to drive product awareness and clinical education.
• Lead established KOL management including contract and budget management, quarterly utilization reviews, and ongoing professional relationship engagement, including but not limited to 1:1 meetings, Tier 1 and Tier 2 congresses, Advisory board participation, Speaker Programs, and Voice of Customer initiatives.
• Elevate thought leadership and increase share of voice at the podium through cross-functional collaboration with Director, Medical & Scientific Engagement, Medical Affairs, Global Strategic Marketing and US/Global Professional Relations.
• Lead ongoing identification and management of developing KOL’s in Future Leaders programs in Ophthalmology.
• Identify and analyze the value of a global KOL database that effectively supports our business. Develop and monitor on-going metrics and financials to ensure effective tactical execution and speaker utilization that meets business needs.
• Ensure appropriate diversity of KOL base throughout engagements and involvement in JJSV programming.
Other Responsibilities
• High level collaboration across the organization that supports the business needs across JJV. Requests for assistance with introductions to KOLs, who meet identified objective criteria aligned with the business need, will come from every various functions.
• Managing new and established Eye Care Professionals who meet the criteria for becoming Key Opinion Leaders for J&J Vision.
Qualifications
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in KOL management, medical affairs, or a related field within the healthcare industry.
• Must be highly efficient with computer technology related to customer management and budgeting.
• Track record of interacting professionally and effectively managing relationships with clinicians (MD, DO, ODs) is required.
• Surgical Vision industry experience is preferred.
• Deep understanding of the surgical vision market, including current trends, technologies, and competitive landscape.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficient in data analysis and leveraging insights to inform strategic decisions.
• Willingness to travel as required (up to 50%) to engage with KOLs and attend industry conferences.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $164,000 to $282,900.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

• Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
